Osceola County Fire Rescue is currently divided into three battalions under the operations division. Battalion Chief 4 is in command of the west battalion which borders Lake, Polk,and Orange counties along with the city of Kissimmee. Responsibilities include the day to day operations of stations 42,43,71,72, and 73.
Battalion Chief 4 also responds to a variety of emergency calls including structure fires, medical calls involving air transport, motor vehicle collisions involving entrapment or multiple critical patients,hazardous materials and special operations incidents,while acting as a liaison between the stations and administration to provide a constant flow of information along the chain of command. Battalion Chief 4 works a traditional 24/48 schedule and also attends numerous required meetings when off duty.
