Battalion Chief 5 responded to 759 alarms in 2006
Osceola County Fire Rescue is currently divided into three battalions under the operations division. Battalion Chief 5 is in command of the east battalion which borders Okeechobee, Brevard,Indian River,and Orange counties along with the cities of St. Cloud and Kissimmee. Responsibilities include the day to day operations of stations 51,52,53,55,57 and 54(2008). Battalion Chief 5

also responds to a variety of emergency calls including structure fires, medical calls involving air transport, motor vehicle collisions involving entrapment or multiple critical patients,hazardous materials and special operations incidents,while acting as a liaison between the stations and administration to provide a constant flow of information along the chain of command. Battalion Chief 5 works the traditional 24/48 schedule and also attends numerous required meetings when off duty.
